QPQ piston rods, chrome plated rods, induction hardened chrome rods, and to a large extent induction hardened chrome plated rods are indispensable components within hydraulic cylinders and various other mechanical systems.

QPQ piston rods are specifically suited for applications that have extremely high requirements; wear and corrosion resistance being the primary factors, automotive engines being a prime example, construction machinery among many other fields.

Wide usage across a multitude of mechanical equipment is attributed to the cost effective nature of these induction hardened chrome plated rods - good (if not perfect) wear resistance being the end goal.

chrome plated rods themselves are well suited to more 'specialized' surface hardness requirements; precision machinery, mold making being two clear cases.

Advantages:

1) Chrome plating and some form of induction hardening provides that all important extra wear resistant layer.

2) The plating itself prevents certain types of corrosion/oxidation.

3) Full induction hardening pushes the surface hardness higher, load capacity following as a near direct result.
